OHL Defenceman of the Month - Anthony DeAngelo

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the Top OHL Performers of the Month for January, 2013, including defenceman Anthony DeAngelo of the Sarnia Sting.

Anthony DeAngelo of the Sarnia Sting led all OHL defencemen in scoring with 15 points in 11 January games scoring twice with 13 assists. He started the month by matching his career-high of three assists on New Year's Day as part of a 6-5 overtime win over the London Knights, then set a new personal best with four points his next game scoring once with three assists January 4 in an 8-5 win over the Windsor Spitfires. On January 18 he tallied another four points with a goal and three helpers as third star of a 7-6 win over the Erie Otters.
DeAngelo, a 17-year-old from Sewell, New Jersey, is playing in his second OHL season with the Sting. Eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft, DeAngelo is currently tied for sixth in scoring among defencemen with 34 points in 44 games played.
