Nugent-Hopkins Rebel Yell

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (2011), C, Red Deer:
Blessed with soft hands and the ability to stickhandle in the tightest of spaces .. extremely light on his feet and turns on a dime .. displays terrific vision and imagination with the puck .. a mainstay on the powerplay, but also sees time four-on-four .. definitely must add some muscle to his slender 6-foot-0, 160-pound frame as he tends to get bounced around and outmuscled a bit in the heavy traffic areas .. likes to play on the perimeter on the powerplay, although displays nice anticipation on when to jump in to the play for a scoring chance .. possesses the skills to lead a teammate with his passes and still put it right on the tape .. sports terrific hand-eye coordination .. looked comfortable centering a line of Josh Cowen and the currently injured Landon Ferraro .. once was a teammate of Chilliwack's Kevin Sundher while at the Burnaby Winter Club .. first overall pick in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft. John Persson (2010), RW, Red Deer:
Sluggish looking skater .. lacks the mobility and overall skating ability to get to the next level .. needs to use his size (6-foot-2, 190-pounds) more effectively .. will take a hit to make a play .. goes to the net without the puck .. saw limited time on the powerplay and penalty-kill, but doesn't showcase the ability to expand his role on the team .. played on a line with Jordie Deagle and Brett Ferguson .. the Rebels had to be hoping for more out of Persson as this import forward out of Mora, Sweden seems to be just taking up a roster spot.
