Nigel Dawes - WHL Player of the Week

Calgary - The Western Hockey League Player of the Week is forward Nigel Dawes of the Kootenay Ice. Dawes earned player of the week honours by recording five goals and six points in three road games including two power-play goals and a game-winning goal during the week of October 28th to November 3rd.
On Friday, November 1st, Dawes recorded a goal and an assist in a 5-3 loss against the Pats in Regina. On Saturday, November 2nd, Dawes scored two goals in a 4-1 victory against the Raiders in Prince Albert.

On Sunday, November 3rd, Dawes scored two goals, including the game-winning goal in a 6-4 win against the Blades in Saskatoon.
Dawes, a 17-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, is eligible for the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Honourable mention goes to Brandon Segal of the Calgary Hitmen and Cam Ward of the Red Deer Rebels.
