Memorial Cup: The Crosby Files

The Memorial Cup is a spectacular event every season, but this year is made even more special by the lack of NHL hockey and the presence of the Wonder Kid from Rimouski. We gave you a recap of Sidney Crosby's play in his first game this past weekend, so let's take a look at his next two games to see just what makes this guy so incredible.
Game 2: Ottawa

Able to expose the defence of the 67's .. slow-foot speed on their part resulted in three partial breakaways .. twice got a shot off quickly, not realizing he had more time .. the other was a tremendous save by Danny Battochio .. drives hard to the net .. split defenseman on one play alone with both guys draped all over him and he still managed to get off a shot .. played with a heightened sense of desperation, often looking to be involved in physical play .. administered three checks consecutively in one shift .. always looks to pick up his man coming into the defensive zone and stays with him .. constantly buzzing around the net .. scored on a one-timer in which he got down on bended knee .. did not get everything on it and the goal actually bounced off a defender's stick .. can generate plays with his quick transition game in the neutral zone and led a three-on-one thanks to his awareness .. jumps on loose pucks regularly .. vision continues to impress as he made perfect centre feed for third goal .. uses head fakes to confuse defenders .. quick shoulder dips to get defence to commit to one side .. makes plays on his knees and never loses his concentration .. fights for his ice and was the victim of many cheap shots but still battled through it without complaining to referees once .. managed to kill 30 seconds in the final minute of a close game by being strong on the puck.
Game 3: Kelowna
Not intimidated by the size of the opposing defenders .. continued to shine with his on-ice vision making behind the leg passes with pinpoint accuracy .. did not take a shift off and competed extremely hard in opening frame .. able to brush defence and forwards aside with one arm and drive to the net with one hand on his stick .. capitalized on many loose pucks in the neutral zone and parlayed them into good scoring opportunities .. his mere presence creates penalties .. constantly putting himself in scoring lanes which means the opposition has to sometimes take illegal measures to take him out of the play .. attacks the net looking for tips .. skates with stick on the ice, resulting in the second goal .. plays better when pressured .. can always find the open man despite the coverage .. slick playmaking skills and quick wrist disguise his actions, making it hard to get a read on him during PP with extra time allotted to him .. able to penetrate mobile and big defence of Kelowna .. on one play alone he was one-on-one with Shea Weber; Weber punched him in the face, he fell to his knees but still was moving forward, then got up quickly and threw the big 6'3, 210-pound Weber to the ice and blew by him .. was chased behind the net on that play only to make a quick turn to spring free, thus creating a scoring chance .. a truly remarkable play which exhibited desire to battle, determination in the offensive zone, total concentration and unbelievable stamina.
