Memorial Cup: Good Knight Perry

The London Knights advanced to the Memorial Cup final with a rather convincing win over the Ottawa 67's, going a perfect 3-0 in round robin competition. Corey Perry has raised his game to yet another level and leads the tournament in goals scored. David Bolland continues to play a gritty and determined game while Robbie Schremp is not without chance of his own. Drew Larman proves why he is a versatile forward who looks comfortable playing in any role that is asked of him. We also take a look at one of the few draft eligible prospects on the Knights, Josh Beaulieu.
Corey Perry (Ana), RW

Second only to Crosby in one-on-one skills .. totally undressed Reid with inside out move .. defense of all teams in the tournament have had a hard time containing him .. attacks defense often and is capable of splitting a defensive pairing with ease .. defensemen fear and respect him .. always dangerous when he is in possession of the puck .. has ability to suck in defenders and slow down the game in the offensive zone .. has a tendency to fall down a bit but draws penalties as a result .. shot is hard and on the money .. has scored many goals top corner thus far with hard slap shot .. comfortable handling the point on the PP .. patient in his decision making .. has quick hands .. rolls off players, but lacks extra gear to blow by them .. scored goal on lucky bounce and interfered by kicking Battochio's foot from under him which went undetected.
Rob Schremp (Edm), LW
Has yet to register a goal in the Memorial Cup, but doesn't hesitate to shoot the puck .. can step out from the side boards and let it fly .. shots are always on net, rarely misses .. delays shot by split second to see more net .. dynamic player who like Perry possess great stick handling skills .. able to put puck through defenseman's legs and retrieve it for scoring opportunity .. zigs and zags out of the corner inside the offensive zone .. back checks and is aware of his positioning without the puck .. still suffers from not going to danger areas to score .. prone to dishing out shots after the whistle.
David Bolland (Chi), RW/C
A splendid combination of skill and grit .. intense, battles every shift .. a great player at even strength who excels in tight and physical contests .. really added weight to his modest frame making him stronger on his skates and hard to check off the puck .. protects the puck well and drives to the net with force .. dishes off quick passes and then parks himself in front of the net not afraid to get hit or take abuse .. generally out works his opponents, beating them to loose pucks and being more physical than his counterparts .. swift skater who sees the ice well .. continued strong work ethic and ability to step it up in important games favours him well for future success at next level.
Drew Larman (Free Agent), C
A complete work horse who does what is asked of him .. plays hard for his minutes and hustle is respected by coaches and players alike .. puck handling and skating still quite raw .. shot power is impressive as he was able to blow two nice goals past Kelowna's Westblom .. can adjust his play to compliment all forwards, skilled or defensive .. played on a checking line against Ottawa and a scoring line against Kelowna .. comfortable doing the dirty work in the corners and down low .. sacrifices his body and willingly takes hits to keep the puck in the zone or to dump it out .. a pit bull, when he has someone in his sights he attacks them physically, like a poor man's Tootoo.
Josh Beaulieu (2005), LW
Checking forward who sees limited ice time .. is a team first player who works hard during his shifts to give a rest for the big guns and not get scored against .. a player who skates up and down his wing .. primarily plays the cycle game, dumping puck into zone and attempting to retrieve it down low .. strong on puck, although doesn't hold onto it too often .. skates hard and moves his feet .. nice stride, but not overly agile .. has to work hard for any opportunities he gets and even then doesn't put up offensive numbers .. may change next season when he is relied upon in a different role after key players leave.
