McClement wins OHL Face-off Award

The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Jay McClement of the Brampton Battalion won the OHL Face-Off Award for the 2002-03 season.
McClement, the Battalion captain, won 630 of the 950 face-offs he took this season for a winning percentage of 66% to capture the OHL Face-off Award.

The 20-year-old Kingston native scored 22 goals and 27 assists for 49 points in 45 regular season games with the Battalion. He also won a silver medal with Canada's National Junior Team in January.
The OHL Face-Off Award winner is voted on annually by OHL member team coaches and general managers. A first place vote received five points, a second place vote received three points and a third place vote received one point.
McClement received 62 points in the voting process, while runner-up Matt Stajan of the Belleville Bulls received 31 points and Martin St. Pierre of the Guelph Storm was third with 25 points. Teams were not permitted to vote for players from their own hockey club.
