Leaf Training Camp - Holden Stating his Case

Josh Holden –. Originally a first round choice of the Vancouver Canucks, Holden has never been able to land a full time position. Blessed with excellent size and skills, he struggled with consistency and a lack of effort at times. It should not be ignored that he suffered a serious injury a few years ago when tendons were cut in his arm, which has hampered him from displaying the soft hands and agility he was known for.
“Tougher than a night in jail”, Holden has shown a willingness to take it to the limit at camp and has displayed a lot of the character and talent he was drafted for. Josh’s potential at this point in his career is likely a 3rd line role with upside but first he will have to fight hard through a very big crowd to land a full-time NHL position with Toronto. This is a critical year with a new organization for Josh to crack the NHL barrier.
