Konsorada named WHL Player of the Week

Calgary - The Western Hockey League Player of the Week is forward Tim Konsorada of the Brandon Wheat Kings. Konsorada earned player of the week honours by recording a goal, ten assists and 11 points in four games for the week of September 30th to October 6th.
On Wednesday, October 2nd, Konsorada recorded two assists in an 8-5 win against the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds. On Friday, October 4th, Konsorada recorded two assists in a 5-4 loss against the Rebels in Red Deer.

On Saturday, October 5th, Konsorada recorded three assists in a 3-3 tie against the Hurricanes in Lethbridge. On Sunday, October 6th, Konsorada recorded a goal and three assists in an 8-3 win against the Tigers in Medicine Hat.
Konsorada, an 18-year-old from Lamont, Alberta, was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Honourable mention goes to Erik Christensen, Kamloops Blazers; Stefan Meyer, Medicine Hat Tigers; Joffrey Lupul, Medicine Hat Tigers and Blake Robson, Prince George Cougars. These players each recorded a hat trick over the weekend.
