Kari Lehtonen leads Finland to Karjala Cup sweep

Finnish goaltender Kari Lehtonen, 19, proved that he can also do it on the senior level. Lehtonen, the highest ever drafted European goaltender (ATL 2002, 2nd overall), posted a 1,13 GAA and a 94,55 save percentage as Finland shut-out Russia (5-0), Czech Republic (2-0) and beat Sweden 5-3 to win the annual Karjala Cup in Helsinki, Finland.
Lehtonen will be Finland's goaltender at the 2003 IIHF World U20 Championship in Canada (December 26, 2002 - January 5, 2003).
