Johansson named WHL Player of the Week

Calgary - The Western Hockey League Player of the Week is rookie forward Jonas Johansson of the Kamloops Blazers. Johansson earned player of the week honours by recording two goals, ten assists and 12 points in three games, including a power-play goal for the week of September 20-29.
On Friday, September 20th, Johansson recorded a goal and added two assists in a 10-2 win against the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds.

On Saturday, September 21st, Johansson recorded three assists in a 5-0 win against the visiting Portland Winter Hawks. On Saturday, September 27th, Johansson recorded a goal and five assists in a 7-6 win against the visiting Prince George Cougars.
Johansson, an 18-year-old from Jonkoping, Sweden, was drafted in the 1st round, 28th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Honourable mention goes to Jordin Tootoo of the Brandon Wheat Kings.
