FIN: Slack-Jawed Jokila

Jarmo Jokila (2004), TPS
The playmaker centre is seeing icetime on the wing lately, performing on the second line for the junior TPS squad .. not very active on the forecheck .. shows his best skills on the power play when he's got the puck .. rarely gives the puck away due to great puckhandling skills and good patience .. at times plays dangerously close to the boards with the back of his head turned away from the ice .. scored a game winner on a rebound and accumulated several more scoring opportunities by moving his feet and forechecking better later on in the game .. much show more energy game in and game out; on his best when utilizing his speed.

Lauri Korpikoski (2004), TPS
Has worked his way onto the first line of the TPS junior squad .. terrific skater .. has short, quick strides and changes tempo with ease .. skates low to the ice with good balance .. likes to challenge defensemen one-on-one and go around them .. not big, but looks strong and sturdy on the ice .. doesn't back down from physical play .. took a big hit in the game and answered shortly thereafter by utilizing his frame with some edge on a forecheck .. very good puck control skills, even at full speed .. finishing skills are still very undeveloped, even despite effort, he never really came close .. showing more energy than before, while his added intensity has transformed him into a sought-after prospect.
Jussi Makkonen (2004), TPS
Tall winger's production has slowed down after putting up good numbers early on in the season .. still playing on the first line of the junior club .. has good height, but simply doesn't use his size .. nice, long reach allows him to dig effectively for the puck .. a fast enough player considering his size; has good balance .. controls the puck well and shows patience when trying to set up his linemates .. could be a fair prospect if he finds the fire within.
Jussi Tapio (2004), TPS
Third-line checking winger for TPS juniors .. energetic player who loves to shoot the puck .. fluid skater with above-average acceleration and lively lateral movement .. bulking up is a must for his frame; additional weight would aid his balance on skates, especially on plays in traffic .. lighter guy, but is surprisingly active and effective when it comes to the physical aspects .. doesn't appear on the scoresheet much, but will get to prove his mettle for the Finnish U18 team soon enough.
Juho Santanen (2004), TPS
Underappreciated netminder was recently a number one star in a game we caught .. made several key, clutch saves .. doesn't have great size (5-9), but compensates quite well with fluid movement in his crease .. very technically sound with above-average puckhandling skills .. nice poke check .. quick legs, must work on rebound control .. yet another solid product from the TPS goalie school.
Pasi Salonen (2004), HIFK
A guy to watch; a goalscorer with some flash .. at his best when utilizes his great acceleration and puckhandling abilities to score goals .. lit the lamp in the first period after beating several opponents with excellent speed from the redline all the way to the net .. goes to the net and constantly creates chances near the crease .. stopped skating in the second and third periods and started to dipsy doodle with the puck .. doesn't shoot the puck nearly enough and considering his soft hands, it's a habit he must fight off .. doesn't show nearly enough interest in his team's success; seems more interested in looking pretty, like ballerina .. has all the tools, but needs an attitude adjustment or he'll get pummeled in the pros.
Miikka Jouhkimainen (2004), HIFK
High-energy winger is back and healthy after injuring his knee .. good acceleration and top speed, but lacks balance and agility .. sneaky quick and seems to get at least a couple of semi-breakaways in every game .. never seems to finish, though; doesn't know how to pick the corners, is fooling no goalies .. must work on his stickhandling, especially at high speeds .. plays hard and plays a spirited hitting game .. a strong guy for his (junior) level of competition, but at least 10 pounds to his frame would be welcome .. has North American experience (NAHL) and has turned some scouts' heads with his style this season .. meat-and-potatoes; minimal upside; has moxie.
Lennart Petrell (2004), HIFK
Bronze medalist at the wjc's, but has slowed down following the tourney .. missed some time with minior injuries, but is back in action on the second line in juniors .. natural winger, but has played center .. creates space for himself quite nicely, with a nice reach, a good wingspan .. likes to shoot the puck, enjoys controlling it, but doesn't overhandle .. physical player and a polished forechecker .. someone might take a late-round flyer on the kid.
