Scouting: an above-average skater with a fast change of pace and deceptive quickness .. shows a solid agility along with a good acceleration .. could only use a bigger top-end speed .. emerges as a swift puckhandler with soft hands .. likes to penetrate into the offensive zone with the puck on his stick and create plays .. blessed with above-average smarts and offensive instincts .. capable of good tape-on-tape passes .. unleashes an accurate wrist shot with a fast release, but doesn't use his slap shot very often .. is willing to return to his own end to help out the defense, but still has to upgrade his defensive awareness, especially the quickness of marking his man .. doesn't have the size to be an intimidating physical force, but pays the physical price to succeed .. progressed in his physical awareness and is willing to throw occasional decent hits .. doesn't play afraid and stick his nose into traffic, but tends to take regular off-games in his traffic awareness .. one of the most promising Czech 1988 born players and a quality prospect.
Marian Urban (2006), D
Scouting: an adequate skater who won't jump at you with his lateral mobility .. uses a decent stride and shows okay agility and straightaway speed .. decent lower-body strength and balance on his skates .. slower on his turns .. should be more explosive and upgrade on top-end speed .. decent stickhandling skills .. could use the backhand side more effectively .. corrals the pucks adequately well .. capable of distributing accurate passes on a short distance, but should make harder passes in order to get them through traffic .. prone to the odd mistake when moving the puck .. his offensive prowess dips under pressure .. average vision .. unleashes an adequately accurate shot from the point, but hardness is an issue .. adequate positional play .. hardly willing to punish the opposing players .. uses his stick instead of his body .. gets outmuscled by bigger opponents .. adequate determination when clearing the crease, but inconsistent in this asset .. won't be selected in the draft .. a right-shooting defenseman .. not worth NHL consideration.
Erik Hrna (2006), RW
Scouting: a decent skater .. uses a style where he is bent over significantly .. adequate acceleration and footspeed .. solid agility .. capable of sharp turns .. decent top-end speed .. stickhandling skills don't stand out .. likes to fool the opposition with stick moves just before taking the puck but should corral difficult passes more smoothly .. should make quicker puck moves .. capable of making nifty deflections .. solid passing skills .. doesn't have an overly good creativity, but makes regular accurate passes to the nearby teammate .. adequate in-close finishing skills .. uses primarily the wrist or snap shot .. slap shot needs to be less telegraphed .. adequate defensive play, but is still raw in this asset .. looses position in his own end .. diligent on the penalty killing units, but should be able to block the opposing passing lanes more effectively .. more of a perimeter player .. hardly gets involved around the boards .. doesn't throw hard hits and tends to get pushed around by bigger players .. won't be selected in the draft.
Jakub Ciupa (2006), C/LW
Scouting: an average skater .. doesn't impress with his acceleration and stride effectiveness .. adequate agility on his skates .. lacks a high top-end speed .. decent stickhandling skills, but isn't impressive with the puck in tight space .. should make more nifty moves to bring the opponent out of position in one-on-one .. okay passing skills .. uses the boards smartly .. decent awareness of his linemates .. adequate vision .. should fire the pucks more often as he prefers passing to shooting .. okay variety of shots .. the quickly released snap shot is the most impressive one .. fires a hard slap shot .. all shots could be more accurate .. a decent defensive awareness .. returns to his own end and blocks the passing lanes .. should stay in his own end in position more often .. blessed only with a modest frame, but doesn't play afraid .. digs for the pucks in the corners, but is inconsistent in this asset .. out of NHL draft consideration.
Radim Ostrcil (2007), D
Scouting: a decent skater .. possesses okay straightaway speed .. should further develop on his acceleration and first-step quickness .. adequate lower-body strength .. decent lateral movement ...an offensive minded rearguard .. strongest asset is his ability to join the rush and support the offense .. blessed with above-average offensive vision .. needs to learn when to jump into the play and when to stay in the defensive position .. an okay stickhandler and a deft passer who is capable of making strong plays .. doesn't hesitate to unleash his accurate slap shot which was upgraded also in terms of hardness .. needs to play all of his games at full intensity and determination .. his frame is smallish by North American standards .. will need to prove that he can play a tenacious style and an ability to play the body .. needs to further upgrade on his defensive zone coverage .. tends to loose his position for a chance to make a play .. needs to stay with his man all the way .. pro potential can be found here, but isn't a blue-chipper.
Martin Podesva (2007), C
Scouting: an okay skater with solid bursts of speed and agility .. possesses good footspeed and first-step quickness .. should upgrade on balance and lower-body strength .. doesn't use his speed smartly against the opposing players and tends to loose position and 'fly' too much .. can maneuver with the puck in traffic relatively well thanks to his good stickhandling skills and hand-eye coordination .. capable of quick takeaways .. can distribute solid feeds through traffic .. utilizes on his adequate understanding of the game to serve as a playmaking center .. hardly battles his way into scoring opportunities through heavy traffic .. looks for the finesse way to score .. should fire the pucks more often .. unleashes a fast accurate wrist shot, but his slap shot needs to be more hard .. isn't much of a physical force and can get outmuscled in the corner battles .. needs to upgrade on his defensive awareness .. is willing to return back to his own end occasionally, but should mark his man more quickly and stay with him .. talented, but more of an Europe-bound type of player. a late '88 born center .. a career European type.
Matej Stritesky (2009), D
Scouting: a solid skater with above-average straightaway speed and a smooth stride .. okay agility and lateral movement .. doesn't get beaten by speed .. average balance .. still should upgrade on lower-body strength .. solid offensive flair .. looks for loose rebounds in the opposing slot .. shows decent smart when moving the puck .. above-average vision and hockey sense .. solid puckhandling skills and hand-eye coordination .. a deft passer who knows how to find the open man .. capable of accurate outlet passes even on a long distance .. a smart player on powerplay units .. shows enough confidence to make risky plays, but can't avoid the odd mistake .. shot from the point should be more accurate and needs to keep it lower on the ice .. should upgrade on the play in his own zone .. can be caught off position, but makes up for those lapses with his quickness .. doesn't play afraid but possesses still the body of a child .. will be more effective when he will further develop physically .. a late '90 born defenseman .. second-youngest junior Extraleague regular .. shoots right .. a legitimate NHL prospect.
Ondrej Dalecky (Undrafted), D
Scouting: a solidly build defenseman .. a decent skater with adequate top-end speed .. uses a powerful stride and a solid acceleration .. okay balance and lower-body strength, but agility needs further improvement .. could use a bigger top-end speed .. more of a defensive-minded rearguard, but tries to support offense on occasions .. works hard down low .. decent aggressiveness .. hits players along the boards .. occasionally looses his temper .. willing to drop the gloves and fight .. solid in his own end, but still suffers from an odd positional gaffe, especially when hitting .. sub-par puckhandling skills .. shows hands of stone when asked to make a deke .. unleashes a powerful shot from the point, but needs to develop a better accuracy .. lacks offensive vision and hockey sense so that he can't support the offense effectively .. doesn't think the game fast enough to be a good asset on powerplays .. shoots right .. doesn't have the tools of a NHL prospect.
Lukas Navratil (Undrafted), RW
Scouting: an above-average skater with a solid footspeed .. takes advantage of his acceleration and a good agility .. gets knocked off his feet because of a sub-par balance .. thin-looking lower-body .. crafty stickhandling skills and a solid play with the puck .. should be more lethal in one-on-one situations .. adequate variety of shots .. fires a quick and accurate wrist .. average slap shot needs to be harder .. further developing of his defensive awareness is essential .. isn't very interested in playing off the puck .. needs to mark his man more quickly and upgrade on his defensive positioning .. important for him is to add more muscle mass to his frame and get stronger to handle traffic more effectively .. doesn't run the opponents over and can be pushed out of the scoring lanes by stronger opponents .. hesitant to show up in traffic .. an one-dimensional smallish forward .. conditioning still remains a minor issue .. nothing fancy here in terms of NHL potential.
Adam Uhlar (Undrafted), LW
Scouting: an adequate skater with an okay acceleration and balance .. displays a solid lower-body strength .. needs to further work on his agility .. average top-end speed limits him on breakaways .. his sub-par stickhandling is his main drawback .. isn't able to handle the puck effectively in traffic and dangle it because of his shabby hands .. prone to giveaways .. average vision is limiting his effectiveness as a passer .. unleashes a quick wrist shot, but his slap shot needs to be more accurate .. is working hard in all three zones and is willing to do the little things .. battles hard for the success of the team .. solid in filling his defensive duties .. cuts back on the backcheck quickly .. spots his man quickly .. is willing to execute in traffic and dig for the pucks, but because of his average size isn't a major physical menace .. decent toughness, throws the occasional hit .. won't be selected in the draft.
Martin Stefl (Undrafted), G
Scouting: a quick, acrobatic goalie with above-average reflexes and athleticism .. extremely unpredictable for both opponents but occasionally even his own defensemen .. moves in the crease solidly and is quick side-to-side .. is very tough to beat on the initial shot and shows extreme confidence in his abilities .. plays a mix of the butterfly and stand-up style and can handle traffic in front of him quite well .. possesses an adequate glove hand, but it can still be improved .. could use a better anticipation of plays as he tends to be very wild and speculative at times .. isn't a liability with the puck and likes to play it .. is prone to be too confident when move the puck and his outlet passes find the stick of the opponent too often .. can be spectacular when on his game but also guilty of mind-boggling goals against .. playing a safer game is a must for him .. too inconsistent and unpredictable for a NHL draft pick.
