A diminutive waterbug .. a good skater with strong footspeed .. possesses an extra gear .. solid agility .. needs to learn how to use his speed effectively .. thanks to his smallish size, gets knocked off his feet often .. solid puckhandling skills .. can dangle the puck and dance around opposing players .. likes to unleash a sharp wristshot to the upper shelf .. okay snapshot .. needs to fire harder slapshots .. solid on powerplay units .. not a force in traffic .. more of a finesse player .. doesn't show a commitment to defensive play .. gets outmuscled by bigger players .. a right-shooting forward .. talented, but too small and fragile for the NHL.
Jan Rudovsky (2005), RW
A solid skater who can switch to top speed using just a few strides .. okay agility and first-step quickness .. solid agility, but his balance still has a ways to go .. decent stickhandling skills .. needs to learn how to cover the puck better .. more of a perimeter player who doesn't initiate physical contact .. isn't small, but doesn't show up in traffic and lets his linemates do the dirty work .. uses all types of shots but needs to fire more accurate slappers .. okay in-close finishing skills .. average defensive awareness .. slow at marking his man in his own end .. his play off the puck tends to drop off .. a right-shooting forward .. doesn't show NHL potential.
Michael Frolik (2006), LW
A solid skater with deceptive quickness .. strong agility on his skates and a smooth stride .. decent balance and lower-body strength .. above-average stickhandling skills and hand-eye coordination .. moves the puck with grace even in heavy traffic .. can go end-to-end with the puck .. excellent hockey sense and a special ability to find the open man .. possesses a rare sixth sense for controlling the play and finding a passing lane unseen by others .. very strong playmaker .. a good array of shots, but prefers passing to shooting .. unleashes a quick accurate wrist and snapshot .. okay slapshot .. above-average in-close finishing skills .. solidly-built and able to handle traffic without trouble .. doesn't play an overly intimidating style, throwing just the occasional hit .. doesn't get rattled with opponents playing the body .. a blue-chip NHL prospect.
Jiri Tlusty (2006), LW
His diligent hit-and-go style has earned him solid respect among opponents ..displays above-average aggressiveness and sticks his nose into tight corner battles .. isn't afraid to hit and perform in heavy traffic .. emerges as a solid physical presence, utilizing his solidly-built frame .. blessed with solid quickness for a big man .. possesses good balance thanks to his impressive lower-body strength .. his agility still needs some improvement, but his skating is fairly solid .. he uses his reach effectively and is a smart passer .. possesses decent vision and hockey sense to go along with a strong attitude .. on the downside, still needs to further improve his puckhandling skills, he doesn't have the best hands .. his array of shots could use upgrading as could his accuracy on slapshots .. a good NHL prospect.
David Stieler (2006), C
A good skater with above-average acceleration .. solid agility and first-step quickness .. okay top-end speed .. could use more balance .. adequate puckhandling skills, but still could use softer hands in order to be more effective with the puck in traffic .. okay reading of plays .. a decent passer who can set up a scoring winger .. imaginative with the puck .. fires an accurate wristshot with a fast release .. slapshot needs to be more accurate and harder .. solid defensive awareness .. helps out the defense often and plays in position in his own end .. a valuable asset to both powerplay and penalty killing units .. needs to upgrade on his faceoff skills .. doesn't avoid physical contact but isn't overly aggressive .. relies more on finesse than on toughness .. worth calling an NHL prospect, but has question marks surrounding his potential.
Michal Kazatel (2006), C
A solid skater able to execute at high speed .. plays with above-average agility .. adequate explosiveness .. solid lower-body strength and balance despite smallish size .. possesses strong vision and hockey sense .. a deft playmaker with accurate and well-timed passes .. finishes the scoring chances well thanks to his strong offensive instincts .. has an above-average wristshot with a quick release, but has to further improve his slapshot .. could fire the pucks more often .. has made strides in upgrading his toughness, but still isn't really that aggressive .. his defensive side hasn't come all the way out yet .. needs to limit the opposing player's options more effectively and return to his own zone more .. too small by NHL prospect standards.
Martin Latal (2006), RW
A very good skater with an extra gear .. impresses with his acceleration and above-average agility .. a high-flying winger likes to burn opposing defenders with speed .. solid lower-body strength .. crafty stickhandling skills and good puck-control even in traffic .. a force in one-on-one situations .. strong variety of shots and finishing skills .. fires a quick and accurate wrist and snapshot .. decent slapshot .. has to further develop his defensive awareness as his intensity in his own end and away from the puck tends to cool off noticeably .. has to mark his man more quickly and upgrade his defensive positioning .. needs to add more muscle mass to his frame and get stronger to handle traffic more effectively .. can be pushed out of scoring lanes by stronger opponents .. a decent NHL prospect if he gains more strength.
Jaroslav Ibl (2005), C
A decent skater .. uses solid top-end speed, but should develop quicker first steps to upgrade his acceleration .. okay agility .. decent balance .. average stickhandling skills .. okay dealing with passes, but doesn't have the puck skills to regularly succeed with the puck in traffic and in one-on-one situations .. not very creative with the puck .. could use better vision and hockey sense .. uses all types of shots .. unleashes a hard slapshot which could be more accurate .. taking the draws is a weak point .. average defensive play .. tends to take odd shifts off in his defensive responsibility .. willing to play chippy and finish his checks .. digs for the pucks in the corners .. struggles for ice time on this talented team .. won't get drafted.
Marek Curilla (2005), LW
A swift skater who can accelerate fast .. capable of sharp turns thanks to his above-average agility .. uses his speed to forecheck aggressively and force the opposing forwards to make mistakes .. handles the puck well, has soft hands .. possesses a solid portion of vision and adequate hockey sense .. uses his strong stickhandling to maneuver in tight areas .. could be more effective in heavy traffic .. needs to bulk up so as not to be pushed around by hulking defensemen, who can take him out of the scoring lanes .. doesn't play a tough style and relies more on finesse .. needs to improve on his defensive play, which is only average .. could be more effective in the offensive zone given his strong skill set and sometimes streaky scoring.
