CHL Players of the Month

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced today its offensive, rookie and defensive players for the month of January 2005. There is no real surprise in the nomination of Sidney Crosby as Offensive player of the month: he is the first player of the circuit to reach 100 points this season. As far as defense is concerned, the defenseman Mario Scalzo, also from the Oceanic de Rimouski, was selected. In the rookie of the month category for January, Derick Brassard, from the Voltigeurs de Drummondville, was selected.

Morris recorded points in 13 of the 14 games he played helping lead the Rebels to a 9-5 record in January.
