CHL Player of the Week - Nikolaj Ehlers

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Winnipeg Jets prospect Nikolaj Ehlers of the Halifax Mooseheads is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 30 with 13 points in three games including five goals and eight assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-5.
Ehlers extended his personal point-streak to 13-straight games also setting new career-highs for goals, assists, and points in single games last week helping the Mooseheads earn a pair of victories on a three-game road trip. Ehlers played a role in 13 of the 18 goals scored by his team last week beginning with a career-high five-assist performance on Thursday as second star of a 6-3 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes. On Saturday he had the best offensive performance of his career tallying six points including a career-high four goals as first star of an 8-5 win against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. His week wrapped up Sunday with a goal and an assist despite a 6-4 loss to the Val-d'Or Foreurs.

Ehlers, an 18-year-old from Aalborg, Denmark, is playing in his second QMJHL season with the Mooseheads. The CHL's Rookie of the Year was selected by the Jets in the first round of the 2014 NHL Draft and is currently tied for fourth in QMJHL scoring with 43 points in 21 games after recording 104 points in 63 games last season.
Also considered for the award this week was Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Oliver Bjorkstrand of the Portland Winterhawks who scored five goals with one assist for six points in three games, while Nathan Pancel of the Sudbury Wolves also recorded six points in three games netting four goals and two assists.
