CHL Player of the Week - Mitch Marner

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that 2015 NHL Draft prospect Mitch Marner of the London Knights is the CHL Player of the Week with 10 points in two games scoring seven goals and three assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-2 for the week ending November 23.
Marner becomes the second two-time winner of the award this season after a pair of five-point performances last week helping the Knights win two games. On Friday night Marner recorded a career-high five points which included another career-first milestone four goals as first star of a 6-3 win over the Mississauga Steelheads. Then on Saturday, the Knights travelled to Windsor where Marner collected his second straight five-point game scoring his fourth hat-trick of November along with two assists again claiming first star honours as part of the 8-2 win over the Spitfires.

Marner, a 17-year-old from Thornhill, ON, is playing in his second career OHL season with the Knights. A top prospect for the 2015 NHL Draft, Marner was one of 23 CHL players identified as a first round candidate in NHL Central Scouting's November 'Players to Watch' list released last week. Marner is currently fourth in OHL scoring with 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points in 23 games and was part of Team OHL's 5-1 win over Russia in the SUBWAY Super Series last Monday night in Kingston.
Also considered for the award this week was Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Adam Erne of the Quebec Remparts with two goals and six assists for eight points in three games, and Lane Bauer of the Edmonton Oil Kings who scored four goals and four assists for eight points in four games.
