CHL Player of the Week - Jayce Hawryluk

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Florida Panthers prospect Jayce Hawryluk of the Brandon Wheat Kings is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 22 after scoring five goals and two assists for seven points in two games with a plus-minus rating of plus-4.
Hawryluk returned to the lineup for the first time since January 16 and immediately contributed offensively for the Wheat Kings who continue to lead the WHL's Eastern Conference standings with 94 points. On Friday night he scored his second hat-trick of the season and was named the game's second star despite the 6-4 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders, then scored twice with two assists on Saturday earning first star honours in a 7-3 win over the Saskatoon Blades.

Hawryluk, a 19-year-old from Roblin, MB, is playing in his third WHL season with the Wheat Kings. Selected by the Panthers in the second round of the 2014 NHL Draft, Hawryluk has 24 goals and 30 assists for 54 points along with an impressive plus-minus rating of plus-31 in 42 games played this season.
Also considered for the award this week was 2015 NHL Draft prospect Mitchell Marner of the London Knights who became the first OHL player to reach 100 points this season recording three goals and seven assists for 10 points in three games, while Philippe Sanche of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada scored three goals and four assists for seven points in three games.
