CHL Player of the Week - Daniel Audette

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Montreal Canadiens prospect Daniel Audette of the Sherbrooke Phoenix is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 26 with four goals and six assists for 10 points in three games with a plus-minus rating of plus-1.

Audette helped the Phoenix win two of three games last week improving the club's record to 12-5-0-0 atop the QMJHL's West Division standings. His week was highlighted by a career-high six-point performance on Friday setting a franchise record for points in a game with two goals and four assists earning first star honours in the 6-5 victory over the Moncton Wildcats. Audette also collected a pair of assists on Thursday in a 5-3 win over the Val-d'Or Foreurs, and a pair of goals on Sunday despite a 6-4 loss to the Gatineau Olympiques.

Audette, an 18-year-old from Blainville, QC, is playing in his third QMJHL season with the Phoenix. Originally chosen first overall in the 2012 QMJHL Entry Draft, Audette was a fifth round pick of the Canadiens in the 2014 NHL Draft after recording 76 points in 68 games last season. He is currently sixth in QMJHL scoring with 26 points in 15 games.

Also considered for the award this week was former OHL first overall pick now NHL Draft prospect Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters who scored three goals and six assists for nine points in three games, and Colorado Avalanche prospect Conner Bleackley of the Red Deer Rebels who scored once with five assists for six points in two games.
