CHL Player of the Week - Conor Garland

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Conor Garland of the Moncton Wildcats is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 9 scoring three goals with six assists along with a plus-minus rating of plus-2 in three games played.
Garland helped the Wildcats pick up three straight wins against Maritimes Division opponents lifting the club into second place with 26 points. Garland opened the week with a pair of multi-point games on the road beginning last Tuesday collecting four points including the game-winning goal and three assists in a 5-3 victory over the Charlottetown Islanders. He was named second star of that contest, then earned second star honours again on Friday night scoring twice with one assist as part of a 4-1 win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. His week wrapped up with one assist on Saturday in a 5-4 overtime win against the Halifax Mooseheads.

Garland, an 18-year-old from Scituate, MA, is playing in his third QMJHL season with the Wildcats. He is currently tied for eighth in league scoring with 29 points in 21 games after recording 54 points in 51 games last season.
Also considered for the award this week was San Jose Sharks prospect Rourke Chartier of the Kelowna Rockets with eight points in three games scoring four goals and four assists, and Detroit Red Wings prospect Tyler Bertuzzi of the Guelph Storm who also recorded eight points in three games scoring twice with six assists.
