CHL Player of the Week - Connor McDavid

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that 2015 NHL Draft top prospect Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters is the CHL Player of the Week for the playoff week ending May 3 after recording 10 points in three games scoring once with nine assists.
McDavid earns the award for the second straight week and third time this post-season helping the Otters advance to the OHL Championship Series following a six-game series win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the Western Conference Final. McDavid extended his playoff-long point-streak to 15 games on Saturday with his second five-point performance of the playoffs scoring the game-winning goal and four assists as first star of the 7-3 series clinching victory. The Otters' captain also notched an assist on Thursday in the 4-2 Game 5 loss to the Greyhounds, and four assists in the 7-5 Game 4 win last Tuesday earning second star honours. The Otters will now face the Oshawa Generals for the Robertson Cup beginning Friday night.

McDavid, an 18-year-old from Newmarket, ON, is playing in his third OHL season with the Otters. The OHL's Scholastic Player of the Year and playoff scoring leader has 42 points in 15 games after finishing the regular season campaign with 120 points in 47 games. He is ranked first by NHL Central Scouting for the 2015 NHL Draft.
Also considered for the award this week was Arizona Coyotes prospect Anthony Duclair of the 2015 MasterCard Memorial Cup host Quebec Remparts with seven points including one goal and six assists in two games against the Moncton Wildcats, and Tyson Baillie of the Kelowna Rockets with two goals and five assists for seven points in four games against the Portland Winterhawks.
