CHL Player of the Week - Christopher Clapperton

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that forward Christoper Clapperton of the Rimouski Oceanic is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending September 28 with eight points in two games including five goals and three assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-7.
Clapperton led the Oceanic to a pair of victories in his first two games of the season earning first star honours in both contests. He matched a career-high with five points on Friday night against the Drummondville Voltigeurs with his fourth hat-trick of his career plus two assists as part of the 6-4 victory. Then on Sunday evening in Victoriaville, Clapperton scored twice with an assist as part of a 3-1 win over the Tigres.

Clapperton, a 20-year-old from Cap-d'Espoir, QC, is playing in his fourth and final QMJHL season and first with the Oceanic after spending the last three season with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Selected by the Florida Panthers in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Draft, Clapperton joins an Oceanic club currently tied for first place in the QMJHL standings with 10 points in six games.
Also considered for the award this week was 2015 NHL Draft prospect Dylan Strome of the Erie Otters with 10 points in three games including one goal and nine assists, and Carson Stadnyk of the Everett Silvertips with three goals and four assists for seven points in two games.
