CHL Player of the Week - Anthony DeAngelo

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Anthony DeAngelo of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds is the CHL Player of the Week after scoring four goals and four assists for eight points in two games with a plus-minus rating of plus-4 for the week ending March 1.
DeAngelo earned back-to-back first star honours helping the Greyhounds win a pair of games to extend their winning-streak to nine straight. The top scoring defenceman in the CHL also extended his personal point-streak to 19 straight games with a pair of multi-point games beginning Friday night with two goals including the game-winner plus an assist in a 5-3 win over the Windsor Spitfires. He then recorded a career-high five points including two goals and three assists as part of an 8-3 win over the London Knights on Sunday.

DeAngelo, a 19-year-old from Sewell, New Jersey, is playing in his fourth career OHL season. Acquired by the Greyhounds from the Sarnia Sting earlier this season, DeAngelo has 77 points in 49 games including 20 goals and 57 assists. He was selected by the Lightning in the first round of the 2014 NHL Draft and was a member of Team USA at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Also considered for the award this week were a pair of 2015 NHL Draft prospects including Jansen Harkins of the Prince George Cougars who scored once with six assists for seven points in two games, and Evgeny Svechnikov of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles who scored four goals and four assists for eight points in four games.
