CHL Goaltender of the Week - Brent Moran

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Dallas Stars prospect Brent Moran of the Niagara IceDogs is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 9 after posting a 2-0-0-0 record including one shutout with a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .970.
Moran made 65 saves last week in his two games backstopping the IceDogs to a pair of victories against Western Conference opponents. Last Thursday night he stopped 38 shots and earned second star honours as part of a 5-2 victory against the Erie Otters. The loss was the first for the Otters in regulation time this season. Moran followed that performance with his first career shutout victory on Saturday stopping all 27 shots he faced to earn first star honours in a 2-0 victory over the Sarnia Sting.

Moran, an 18-year-old from Orleans, ON, is playing in his third OHL season with the IceDogs. Selected by the Stars in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Draft, Moran currently carries a 4-11-0-0 record with a goals-against-average of 3.16 and save percentage of .906.
Also considered for the award this week was fellow Dallas Stars prospect Philippe Desrosiers of the Rimouski Oceanic who posted a 2-0-0-0 record with a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .950, while Winnipeg Jets prospect Eric Comrie of the Tri-City Americans went 3-0-0-0 with a shutout win for a goals-against-average of 1.31 and save percentage of .955.
