CHL Goalie of the Week - Carter Hart

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that rookie Carter Hart of the Everett Silvertips is the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 8 after posting a 3-0-0-0 record with one shutout victory along with a goals-against-average of 0.980 and save percentage of .965.
Hart made 83 saves last week backstopping the Silvertips to three straight wins helping the club reach the 40-win mark atop the U.S. Division standings. Last Tuesday night his 37-save performance held off the league's top ranked Kelowna Rockets in a 3-2 overtime decision. On Friday night he picked up his fourth shutout of the season stopping all 21 shots faced earning first star honours in a 1-0 win over the Tri-City Americans. His week wrapped up Saturday with 25 saves in a 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Giants.

Hart, a 16-year-old from Sherwood Park, AB, has played 25 games for the Silvertips this season carrying a record of 16-4-2-1. The 2016 NHL Draft prospect has the best goals-against-average in the league with a mark of 2.20 and holds the second best save percentage at .921.
Also considered for the award this week was Julio Billia of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens with a 2-0-0-0 record posting a goals-against-average of 1.49 and save percentage of .955, and Jack Flinn of the Owen Sound Attack who made 97 saves in three games with a 1-2-0-0 record posting a goals-against-average of 1.35 and save percentage of .960.
