Bruins Sundher Lacking Bite

Mitch Topping (2011), D, Chilliwack:
Underage blueliner is already starting to fill out his 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame .. sports first step quickness, but that being said must add some strength and power to his stride .. picks up his check quickly in front of the net, yet is far from being an intimidating presence in the dirty areas .. showing some signs of being a defender that can find the open man to create a scoring opportunity .. can still be guilty of wandering out of his lane .. will join the rush when he has the chance .. closes the gaps quickly .. boasts the straightaway speed that allows him to recover if he gets caught .. is inconsistent with his passing as well as being a tad sloppy handling the puck in the Bruins' end .. not surprisingly, given his age, can be rushed in to turnovers .. sees time on the powerplay. .. coaches usually play the youngster with a capable veteran like Mitch McColm .. communicates well with his defensive partner .. time is on his side and he'll be brought along patiently by Marc Habscheid and the rest of the Chilliwack coaching staff. Kevin Sundher (2010), C/LW, Chilliwack:
Boasts a very good first step, which helps him win many races to loose pucks .. sports the shiftiness and puckhandling ability to back off checkers .. can be guilty of overhandling the puck, but when he's on can lift fans out of their seats with a highlight reel effort .. must show more grittiness as he matures as he matures to fully take advantage of his impressive skill-set .. possesses a quick release and decent shot that he should use more .. blessed with above average vision and is already a skilled playmaker at the junior level .. dangerous when given time and space .. sees time on both special teams .. talented forward is currently second on the team in goals (15) and points (32) .. looks comfortable on a line with Dylen McKinlay and Jamie Crooks some might have been shocked by his low ranking by Central Scouting, but to those in the know he only has himself to blame as he has been all too willing to get by on pure talent and rarely shows the willingness to pay the price .. once thought of as a lock to go in the first round, his stock is falling fast. Dylen McKinlay (2010), RW, Chilliwack:
Skinny winger has to add some beef to his 6-foot-0, 160-pound frame, however uses what he does have very well .. displays a willingness to get his nose dirty in traffic and takes a hit to make a play .. will park himself in front of the net on the powerplay and will push off on the defender to create space .. displays nice chemistry with Kevin Sundher .. works hard on the backcheck and is a capable penalty-killer .. accepts the pass without breaking stride .. can still be inconsistent from shift to shift and doesn't have the talent to take nights off .. lacks vision and the ability to get the puck to the open man at the right time .. defensively conscientious and will drop down in front of a point shot .. not on the CS Preliminary List, but has become a solid junior player under the new coaching staff.
