BCHL: Two-Headed Viper

Connor Jones (2008), C, Vernon
Small pivot generally likes to stay in the slot on the powerplay, however will go to the net and try to hang in for as long as he can .. very good overall skater .. lacks the strength to park himself for long periods in the dirty areas with bigger opponents .. uses his speed to close the gaps on the forecheck .. not surprisingly centers the line on which his twin brother plays .. displays nice vision and will find the open man .. a bit less tenacious than his brother, but still showcases a solid work ethic without the puck .. likes to cycle and is fairly effective at it .. has the ability to slip behind coverage. (16gp, 7-8-15)

Braden Pimm (2008), F, Vernon
A bit on the smallish side and tends to get jostled about in the high traffic areas .. sometimes is too passive on the pointman when he's killing penalties .. plays on the powerplay .. must get stronger and develop a more powerful stride .. too often shows hesitancy, especially in the Vipers' zone .. like many undersized players tends to be more successful with increased time and space .. tends to only pressure the puckcarrier with positioning and angles and rarely will try to physically take the player on .. not a pro prospect at this time. (16gp, 4-1-5)
Kellen Jones (2008), RW, Vernon
At 5'9 and about 165 pounds might not be the strongest player around, however he doesn't stop battling for the puck in the corners and along the wall .. goes to the net .. moves the puck crisply .. very explosive out of the gates, with terrific mobility .. plays on a line with his twin brother .. displays some offensive imagination and above average anticipation thanks to splendid vision .. boasts surprising fire and will stand up for himself if challenged .. has a quick stick and thus is able to acquire and create loose pucks .. a regular on the powerplay. (16gp, 1-10-11)
Taylor Stefishen (2008), LW, Langley
Is committed to Ohio State for the 2008-09 season .. displays very nice anticipation .. silky, smooth skater with terrific mobility and acceleration .. likes to conserve his energy by generally thinking the game at a higher level than his opponents and not wasting energy skating haphazardly all over the ice .. boasts the shot and marksmanship to pick the corners on a goalie .. can be separated from the puck at tad too easily and should use his time at Ohio State to build up his overall strength .. a regular on both special teams .. served a two-game suspension for his part in a line brawl earlier in the season. (15gp, 6-12-18)
Derek Grant (2008), RW, Langley
Skates very well with the puck, but lacks the explosiveness to beat most defenders around the outside .. will use his ample size, 6'3-190lbs., however must remember to keep his feet moving as well as keeping his mind on the game .. a regular on the powerplay and saw some time late on penalty kills, especially late in his own zone .. seems to favour using his wrist shot .. boasts good vision .. still needs to get more out of his size and strength than he currently does .. has yet to commit to a College, but plans to become an architect, which may have to be put on hold if he continues improving. (17-8-10-18)
