Vees' 6-foot-0, 180-pound blueliner is committed to Ohio State for the next season .. partnered on Penticton's top defensive pairing with Ryan Wagner .. needs to make it harder for his opponents to drive to the net .. sometimes hesitates a bit too long with the puck when he should move it .. good enough speed and vision to join the rush, while still being able to get back .. tries to support the puckcarrier by getting open .. will at times lose concentration and forces a play that isn't really there .. not a fighter, but will stand up for himself when pushed and drop them .. plays on both special teams .. deserves a late look on draft day, but most likely will go unselected. Zac Dalpe (2008), C, Penticton

Penticton Vees' star pivot is committed to Ohio State for 2008-09 .. some scouts have complained that he is a bit too much of a hotdog .. centered the top line of Austin Smith and Brett Hextall .. sports terrific hand-eye coordination .. supremely confident in every facet of his game .. boasts very good jump out of the blocks .. can stickhandle easily through traffic .. not hesitant to shoot from anywhere .. the puck seems to almost always end up on his stick .. shows a willingness to skate hard on the backcheck .. supports the puckcarrier well .. gets in the opponent's passing lanes and likes to pick off passes .. both his wrist and slap shots can be lethal, although sometimes tries to be a bit too precise and misses the mark all together .. always looking for the holes in the defensive coverage and usually finds it .. quite passive on the penalty-kill and not overly aggressive putting pressure on the pointman .. shows an awareness of where to be in the defensive zone .. always a player the other team must be aware of .. boasts a heavy slap shot that will be even more effective as he going accuracy .. showcases a bit of sandpaper to his game .. needs to add some strength and be just a bit tougher on the puck .. communicates with his teammates .. sees time at the point on the powerplay .. is generally dangerous with the extra man, however only three of his 27 goals were scored on the powerplay.
