Committed to Northern Michigan University for next fall .. recorded 12 points (2-10-12) in 20 games with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks before being traded to the Burnaby Express .. possesses a fairly heavy wristshot, but doesn't use it often enough .. doesn't hesitate to take the puck to the net .. communicates effectively with his teammates .. used on the powerplay .. displays strong puck-pursuit abilities and also supports his defense well .. a pretty impressive prospect when he keeps his feet moving, but can be a tad reactive without the puck .. must develop a more consistent physical game as he definitely has the ability to be effective taking the body .. stickhandles well at top speed .. boasts above-average overall quickness and can bust out of the gates with the best of them.
Erik Spady (2007), D, Salmon Arm
Rookie defender has chipped in with eight points (2-6-8) in 22 games so far .. partnered with Damon Kipp .. Spady is a splendid skater to watch - exceptionally quick highlighted by impressive acceleration and mobility .. still needs to learn how to defend one-on-one more effectively, however does show potential .. possesses superb overall speed and is a threat to carry it up the ice if given too much time and space .. can be a tad timid in traffic and in the dirty areas which isn't surprising given his youth.
Chris Rawlings (2007), G, Salmon Arm
Towering netminder appears to be still growing into his body as he can look a bit awkward in his movements .. with experienced Billy Blase joining the team recently, Rawlings will likely be relegated backup .. appeared in eight games this season with a solid 2.38 goals-against average and an eye-catching 0.910 save percentage .. must work on his recovery time so that he is in better position to stop the second and third shots .. nevertheless, he still gets away with being slow to recover due to his large frame taking up much of the net .. his rebound control and general puckhandling abilities both need to be improved as well .. can dominate when using his size and his relatively quick feet, especially in close .. however, he will overcommitt to a shooter and take himself out of the play for the second shot .. definitely shows potential, and has time to hone his skills.
Brett Corcoran (2006), D, Trail
Rookie forward from Parksville currently sits with 14 points (5-9-14) in 22 games .. possesses the hands to beat a defender one-on-one .. however, must learn to react quicker to developing plays .. also doesn't display much physicality to his game .. uses his speed effectively to get in early on the forecheck, however rarely makes the opposing blueliner pay much of a price.
Lucas Bloodoff (2007), F, Trail
Promising rookie has already produced 17 points (3-14-17) for the Trail Smole Eaters in 24 games .. boasts a nice release to his wristshot, though his slapper still needs work as it is far from overpowering even at this level .. played on a line with Ray Nicks and Jon Hanley .. must also get stronger on the puck and learn how to protect it better .. will go to the net and park himself there, although he doesn't yet have the strength to be very effective .. his skating is fine and should become more of an asset as he matures.
Dan Quilico (2006), LW, Trail
Thousand Oaks, CA native is committed to Colorado College for next fall .. currently sits second in team scoring with 21 points (9-12-21) in 23 games .. smallish build at 5'9 and 160 pounds .. moves very well thanks to quick feet and extremely good mobility .. boasts exceptional acceleration and top-end speed that backs off defenders .. opportunistic as a checker, can cause puckcarriers to misplay pucks or hurry their passes .. skates with a grace that catches your attention .. a regular on both the powerplay and penalty-killing units .. played on a line with Kevin Limbert and Jason Shaffer.
