BCHL: Santorelli Lacks Venom

Notes from a regular season game played earlier this year featuring last years' BCHL champions the Vernon Vipers and one of their top prospects Mike Santorelli.

Mike Santorelli (2004), C

Comes back deep to the support the defense .. puts the puck on the tape .. didn't work hard enough in the corner and as a result let his man beat him out of the corner .. got an interference PIM .. takes the pass well .. good skater, but doesn’t appear to be overly quick .. goes to high traffic areas .. ties up opposing center .. displayed a nice wrist shot .. plays on the power play.

Ryan Kindret (2004), LW

Puts his body into a hit .. good stickhandler .. on the PP .. puts his above average vision to use .. passed the puck crisply on to the tape of an open player for an excellent scoring chance .. quick feet .. dependable forecheker, but not overly physical .. takes a hit to make a play .. looks dangerous in the offensive zone.

Garrett Festerling (2004), RW

Very agile and extremely quick, helping him elude hits along the wall .. keeps his head up while carrying the puck and passes it to the trailing forward .. good top end speed .. cuts off passing lanes on the penalty hill .. stickhandles well .. hard worker .. battles through checks .. as well as his time on the PK he also receives PP time.

Dustin Claffey (2004), RW

Defensively conscientious .. good skater .. backchecks hard .. takes his man .. gets a lot of ice time .. goes to high traffic areas.

Mark Sibbald (2004), G

Comes across quickly .. excellent reflexes .. communicates with his players, especially the defense .. plays the puck confidently .. made a terrific blocker save .. swallows up most shots .. keeps his composure .. made an acrobatic save on a sure goal.
