Holds up the opposing center .. played the point on the powerplay .. conscientious backchecker .. keeps his feet moving .. active stick and is adept at stripping the puck away from the puck carrier with a poke check .. versatile .. size and strength are an issue, but he is very successful at the Junior level.
Mike Moore Surrey (BCHL), D:
Another scout told me that he was a real polite and nice kid .. on both the pk and pp .. played the point .. much better positionally this game .. however, still likes to join the rush and sometimes even tries to lead it .. carried the puck from center and established the zone and made a few moves and rifled a shot top corner .. has the ability to take the puck off his skates and put it up to his stick.
Andrew Kozek Surrey (BCHL), C:
Quick, and above average top end speed and very agile .. pretty decent wrist shot .. drives to the net .. forechecks aggressively .. gave up on a play that he could have had a scoring chance on .. took a lazy hooking penalty.
Shane McCormick Merritt (BCHL), C:
Captain .. weird skating style, kind of choppy and his back is almost totally straight when he is going at full speed .. on pk and pp.
Ryan Botchar Surrey (BCHL), D:
Tied up his man on a 1 on 1, but the player still got a shot on net for a quality scoring chance .. not really noticeable.
TJ Mulock Surrey (BCHL), RW:
Displays much more confidence than he ever did when he played at the Major Junior level in the WHL .. a fixture on both special teams .. elite skater and stickhandler and moves the puck well .. lack of physical strength doesn’t seem to be as much of an issue at this level.
Steve Cameron Merritt (BCHL). RW:
Skates hard, always moving and more than willing to initiate contact .. fearlessly goes in to high traffic areas .. displays excellent pursuit of the puck carrier .. scored a goal on a wrist shot that he got all of.
