2011 Draft Watch: Myles Bell

Myles Bell (2011), D, Regina
As good as Myles is in the offensive zone he can be that poor in the Pats' defensive zone .. does a very poor job picking up his check or shut down the passing or shooting lanes .. will pinch in from the point .. still needs to be tougher on the puck .. gets a bit of time on the penalty-kill, but not very effectively due to being too passive and unwillingness to take the body .. a cornerstone on Regina's powerplay .. skates and moves the puck well .. shifts direction effortlessly and is able to elude the forecheck and get the puck out of his zone .. too often allows his check to beat him fairly easily on the outside .. skates well with the puck .. boasts a strong, clean stride .. sports nice touch with his passes and doesn't panic in close .. has very good vision offensively and usually finds the open man with crisp, tape-to-tape passes .. showcases the speed to recover if he gets beat .. will hold on to the puck to force the checker in to possibly over committing .. is simply a liability too often without the puck .. lacks the skills or interest to playing a physical game .. listed at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds .. partnered with Tyler Pavkovich.
